When your nonprofit starts using Overflow, they get to choose whether to bring over donors' giving history from their previous platform.
If they decide to include it, they'll work with our team to select which donations to display in your Donor Profile. This process helps consolidate your giving history for tax purposes! 🧾
Key Things to Know
- Your nonprofit decides whether to import historical giving.
- 🔄 If they choose to import, they’ll specify a time range of donations for our team include.
- 🗓️ This usually happens about a week before launching with Overflow.
- Any donations made after this date might not immediately appear in your Donor Profile. (This can also affect any overlapping donations.)
- 📥 Please be assured our team periodically performs fresh imports for most nonprofits.
- ⏳ While more recent donations from your nonprofit’s previous giving platform may not yet appear in your account, your giving history should be updated within the next few months.
- If you’ve donated using more than one email address or phone number, you might have multiple Donor Profiles on our platform.
- đź’ˇ Example: If your Pushpay account was linked to johnd0e@yahoo.com at one point and johnd0e@gmail.com later on, donations made under each of those email addresses may appear under separate Donor Profiles.
What If Something Is Incorrect or Missing From My Historical Giving?
If it looks like some of your historical giving is incorrect or missing, there might have been an issue with the data we received from your nonprofit. ⚠️
- 📞 We recommend contacting them directly to see what information was shared during the transition.
- 🔍 You might also want to review your previous giving platform to confirm your contact details and giving records are accurate.
