How to Add New Payment Methods

We make it simple to manage your payment methods so you can give with ease! Whether you’re updating a recurring gift or making a one-time donation, here’s how to add a new payment method to your Donor Profile.

🔄 Updating an Active Recurring Gift

If you’d like to update the payment method for an active recurring gift:

  1. Once you have logged into your Donor Profile, navigate to the Recurring Gifts module in the left sidebar.
  2. For the recurring gift you'd like to edit, click on the ellipsis (⋯) at the end of the listing, and select "Edit" from the dropdown menu.
  3. The "Edit Recurring Gift" pop-up window will appear.
    • 💳 You can add a new credit/debit card (or link a bank account). If you’d rather enter your bank account details manually, simply follow the steps outlined here.
    • 🔒 You’ll also see the option to select a previously used payment method, which is automatically saved to your Donor Profile.
    • ⛔️ Apple Pay and Google Pay cannot be used when updating your payment method in your Donor Profile after your recurring gift is set up. (🔗 Accepted Payment Methods)
  4. Click the "Save" button to apply your changes.
    • 🗓️ Your Donor Profile will update immediately, and the changes will take effect for your next scheduled contribution.

 


🆕 Adding a Payment Method (New Recurring Gift or One-Time Donation)

Setting up a new recurring gift or making a one-time donation with a new credit/debit card, bank account, or digital wallet? You can add your payment method right at checkout!

  1. 💳 You’ll be able to add a new payment method when you make a new donation through Overflow. Simply enter your payment details when prompted during the donation process. (🔗 Navigating Cash Donations)
  2. ✅ Before submitting your gift, check the box that says “Save as default payment method.”
  3. 🔒 This will automatically save the payment method to your Donor Profile and set it as your default for future donations!
