📱 Why You Might Not Receive a Text

Poor Network Connectivity

Sometimes, a weak or intermittent connection can prevent the code from coming through. Make sure you’re in an area with good signal strength, or try switching to a different network (Wi-Fi or mobile data).

Delays or Outages with Your Mobile Carrier

  • Mobile carriers occasionally experience delays or service disruptions that can affect the delivery of messages, including verification codes. If possible, check with your carrier for any ongoing issues.
  • 🌎 Please note: Some international carriers may not support SMS verification in every country. We recommend signing in using an alternative option instead!

Spam Filters

  • Sometimes, your mobile carrier or phone settings may mistakenly flag a verification message as spam. Try checking your junk folder and reviewing your message filtering settings!
  • If you've previously unsubscribed from SMS texts, you may no longer be able to receive verification codes. (If that's the case, we recommend requesting your code via email instead.)

Phone Number Already in Use

If you try to use a phone number that is already associated with another Donor Profile, you might not receive a verification code. (🔗 Can I Use the Same Contact Information for More Than One Account?)

⭐️ Alternative Options

Request the Verification Code via Email

As an alternative, you can request to have the verification code sent to your email address. This can often bypass the issues experienced with SMS delivery. (🔗 Why You Might Not Receive an Email)

Sign in with Google

You can also sign in using your Google account. This can be a quicker and easier option to verify your identity, especially if you’re a first-time donor or if your Donor Profile is already linked to your Google email address.

Please be assured that we actively monitor for issues to maintain a smooth giving experience, especially during high-volume periods. You can also check our Service Status here.

Why You Might Not Receive an Email

Delivery Issues

You may not receive an email if your email address is invalid, blocked by your email provider, or if you previously unsubscribed from Overflow emails.

  • 🔍 Please double-check that your email has a valid domain (e.g., @gmail.com) and is free of typos.
  • 📞 We recommend reaching out to your email provider for further assistance if needed.

Email Delays

Sometimes, email providers may temporarily slow down or delay emails coming from the same sender if multiple messages are sent within a short time frame. This is a common security step to help protect your inbox from spam. Because of this, subsequent emails sent soon after the first may take a little longer to arrive.
