Text to Give is a simple, secure, and convenient way to donate to your favorite nonprofit in just a few seconds — right from your phone!
If your nonprofit has Text to Give set up with Overflow, you can use it to donate cash and noncash gifts (e.g., stock and crypto) in just a few taps. 👋🏽
💳 Give Cash by Text
To donate using ACH or a credit/debit card, text the nonprofit's keyword, followed by the amount, to their Text to Give number. (By default, your gift will go to your organization's designated fund.)
- 📌 Example: Text GIVE 100 to (650) 449-4541 to give $100.
- 📝 Note: Each nonprofit has a unique keyword and number.
First-Time Donors
You’ll receive a link to create your Donor Profile and complete your gift. As part of the process, you’ll be securely prompted to link a card or bank account for future donations. 🔒
Returning Donors
If you’ve donated through Overflow before, your gift will process instantly using your default payment method. ⚡️
📈 Give Stock by Text
To donate shares, text the keyword STOCK to your nonprofit’s Text to Give number.
- 📌 Example: Text STOCK to (650) 449-4541 to get a link to complete your stock gift.
🪙 Give Crypto by Text
To donate cryptocurrency, text the keyword CRYPTO to your nonprofit’s Text to Give number.

📲 Helpful Text Commands
You can also send these commands to your nonprofit’s Text to Give number:
- ❌ CANCEL, VOID, or UNDO — Cancel your most recent gift
- 🛟 HELP — Contact Overflow Support
- ✅ SUBSCRIBE or START — Opt in to receive text updates
- 🔕 UNSUBSCRIBE or STOP — Opt out of text updates (and disable Text to Give)
